MARKET OF MONEY COUNTING MACHINES
Money counting machines marketed in Indonesia are all supplied through imports. Currently there are 8-10 brands of money counting machines on the domestic market such as y Glory, NCL, Gunnebo, Laurel, Certis, Toshio, Super counter, Cmico, and Dynamic. The most popular brands are Glory, NCL and Gunnebo.
Glory and NCL are sold by companies which operate in the marketing of banking equipment/machines. Gunnebo is sold by a company which operates in the marketing of banking equipment but also in other office equipment such as metal furnishings and products of physical security such as safes.
Gunnebo is marketed by PT Indolok Bakti Utama which is also a trader of various other metal furnishings such as file storage system, safes, vault doors, etc. Certis is marketed by PT Certis Cisco which has core business in security management and cash transfer, serving banks and other financial agencies in the transport of cash and other valuable goods. This company also provides security officers for ATM, etc. PT Datascrip, which sells various office equipment also markets money counting machines, but apparently not part of its core business.
Money counting machines Glory which is widely used by banks is marketed in Indonesia through 2 authorized distributors PT Murni Solusindo Nusantara (PT MSN) and CV Murni. The two authorized distributors have marketing networks and imports goods they need. PT MSN fiocus more on total banking solution, while CV Murni focuses more on money handling equipment. Based on a market study, CV Murni has wider networks of branches/after sales services compared to that of PT Murni Solusindo Nusantara. See the following table.
Description of products - Money counting machines
In addition to dimensions and weight, the specifications of money counting machines include in the speed of counting, holder capacity, type of currency that could be counted, counter display that covers the ability to display checking of the amount of money, counting any amount of money, counting of accumulation and counting with amount in line with request (batch), and existence of interface that the counting machine could be connected to computer or other devices.
Money counting machines include one using vacuum mechanism and roller friction. Counting of money with the vacuum system is by putting money on the a special place made available (without untying the money) after the counting is over , the nominal value will be shown on the screen . This system is faster that through friction systemd.
Portable money counting machines in addition to vacuum system could also use "roller friction" system which is lighter.
Money counting for banknotes - standing type
The differences between money counting machines of standing types are in hopper capacity, counting speed, ability to count various sizes of banknotes and additional features such as anti dust and noise, cover, selection of various levels of speed, additional LED displays, etc.
Two more popular products of standing type money counting machines for banknotes are Glory (Japan) and NCL (Taiwan). NCL is relatively new compared to Glory, which has been known in the country for over 30 years . NCL hit the Indonesian market only around `10 years ago, but it has succeeded in grabbing a substantial share of the market.
Based on a technical study, there are four brands of money counting machines recommended Glory, NCL, Gunnebo, Laurel and Cisco. The recommendation is based on 11 technical aspects as follows:

Money counting machines for banknotes - portable type (desktop)
There are two types of portable money counting machines for banknotes -- one using vacuum mechanism and one using roller friction system. The machine working mechnism of the vacuum type is the same as standing type money counting machines with which money is placed on a special place (without untying the money) . Under the roller friction, the money is untied and put into the counting machine.

The main components of money counting machines for coins are hopper, display, rejected coin box, coin thickness & diameter adjustment knob, and bag holding tube.
Profiles of suppliers of money counting machines
The characteristics of companies supplying money counting machines vary. Some specialize themselves in the trade of money handling equipment such as CV Murni and PT Asia Pacific Sembada, and some others provide wider varieties of products and services. PT Murni Solusindo Nusantara and PT Datindo Infonet Prima, are more interested in business of offering products and services which constitute total banking solution, as they also offer cash and checks processing machines and solution, multimedia information delivery system, mobile payment solution, system integration, etc.
PT Indolok Bakti Utama which is the agent for the Gunnebo brand of MCM has core business in the marketing of products of physical security such as safes, vault doors, deposit safes and other fireproof furnishings. The company also markets non-fireproof furnishings like filing cabinets, office cabinets, mobile file produced by PT Chubbsafes Indonesia, which a unit of the Sweden based Gunnebo group. PT Indolok markets Gunnebo money counting machines produced in Malaysia.
PT Certis Cisco markets banking equipment including money counting machines as part of its core business in security management services mainly in security in the transports of cash in transit, ATM cash replenishment, security system maintenance, etc. .....
